Unhappy Nowhere to hide from floods

I live at Auchenflower and work at Milton. Both have flood warnings at the moment. Roads all around us are choked up with cars and rising water. Glad we took Hayden (8 month old baby) to those swimming lessons, he might just need them...

I've just heard we have 5-5.5M of water coming down the Burnett river headed for Bundy.

Stay safe Troy & family.

Troy I hope you guys are all okay through all of this. Yourselves, friends and family.

My family sends our bestest crossed fingers and thoughts to you all. And all affected by this avid precipitation.

Hopefully a cretaceous period like inland sea does not remain after it stops raining.

Stay safe, don't take any risks.

the pacific hwy has just closed at tyndale ( diverting at ballina) and the water coming down the Clarence isn't going make life a joy over the coming days.

It's not looking too good is it Troy! According to the records our land was partially inundated (but not in the house) back in '74 - and I've just heard that they are now predicting that this one will go higher than '74!
I'm starting to think seriously about moving some stuff upstairs...

Hope everyone in SE Qld gets through it OK.

Cheers,
Stephen

We just went for our usual run along the river at St Lucia and Toowong and there are quite a few people that look like they're packing up and moving out. Fortunately, we're up high, although our back yard is a waterway corridor. I hope all the other Qld IISers are OK...

My daughter & I just did the same thing. We live up Sherwood Rd at the top of the hill.

As we were walking back home after viewing the river I heard on the radio that the John Oxley floating restaurant had just broken it's moorings & was floating down the river.
If this is correct then I'm guessing it'll get stuck under one of the bridges.

Just spoke to a mate at BCC. Flood will def be higher than the '74 flood level in Brisbane on Thursday if not before. Take care everyone. I'm off to move stuff upstairs coz I think I'm definitely going under in the next couple of days. Wife's family has just been ordered to evacuate by the emergency services.

They changed the name a while back... to the Drift Cafe...

Good luck, Troy! I hope they're overestimating the flood levels.
