Yeah come think of it ken , I remeber reading a story of a well preserved womans body being found in a peat bog in the UK many years back , A husband wracked with guilt went to police and confessed
to killing his wife.. the remains were found to be hundreds of years old.

Nah, wasn't Cheddar Man.
He was a complete skeleton found in a cave.

But as for Peat Bog bodies, some famous ones are Tollund Man in Denmark, from around 400 BC and found in 1950 : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Tollundmannen.jpg and
http://www.archaeology.org/online/features/bog/

Grauballe Man: http://www.archaeology.org/online/features/bog/ and
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Gr...anden_stor.jpg

and stacks more like Borremose Woman, Windeby Woman, Elling Woman, Kayhausen Boy, Conycaven Man etc.

All good reading.
