Signature Maxed Out.

I can't fit anything else on to my signature as it keeps telling me I cannot exceed 1000 letters (which is strange as I have a fairly small signature). Many others have a lot more on their signature and in bigger writing than I, so I'm a bit confused.

Hi Suzy,

Are you also trying to include links in your sig, because all the characters are counted towards the 1000 letter limit.

Have a look at my sig, that's what I mean, in that it may not be a lot of characters but the HTML link code behind it is also added towards the 1000 letter limit.

I pasted your sig into Word and did a word count and it tells me you have 261 inc. spaces.

It's because each line has the BBCODE FONT and COLOR in it.
HTML Code:
[FONT=Georgia][FONT=Lucida Sans Unicode][SIZE=2][COLOR=Magenta][B][SIZE=1][FONT=Lucida Sans Unicode][COLOR=SeaGreen]Saxon 10" F/5 Dob.[/COLOR][/FONT][/SIZE][/B][COLOR=Magenta]
[/COLOR][SIZE=1][COLOR=Magenta]Pentax XW 10mm,  Vixen LVW 22mm, Celestron X-Cel 5mm,
Meade Series 5000 UWA 6.7mm, Orion Expanse 15mm,
Celestron 4mm, [/COLOR][/SIZE][/COLOR][/SIZE][/FONT][/FONT][FONT=Georgia][FONT=Lucida Sans Unicode][SIZE=2][COLOR=Magenta][SIZE=1][COLOR=Magenta]Andrews UWA  2" 30mm.[/COLOR][/SIZE][/COLOR][/SIZE][/FONT][/FONT][SIZE=1][COLOR=Magenta][COLOR=Magenta] Celestron ED 2" 2x Barlow[/COLOR][/COLOR][/SIZE]
[FONT=Georgia][SIZE=1][FONT=Lucida Sans Unicode][COLOR=Magenta][COLOR=Magenta]Filters: UHC/OIII/ & various others.     [/COLOR][COLOR=SeaGreen]  [COLOR=Magenta]Starry Night Software.   [/COLOR][/COLOR][/COLOR][/FONT][/SIZE][/FONT][SIZE=1][COLOR=Magenta][COLOR=Magenta]7x50 & 10x60 Binos[/COLOR][/COLOR][/SIZE][FONT=Georgia][SIZE=1]
[/SIZE][/FONT][FONT=Fixedsys][COLOR=Sienna]
[/COLOR][/FONT]
That's almost 1000 chars.

Try this, it's only 360+ characters and I've stripped out all the redundant BBCODE.

You might need to play with it a little to get the formatting right.

HTML Code:
[FONT=Lucida Sans Unicode][B][SIZE=1][COLOR=SeaGreen]Saxon 10" F/5 Dob.[/COLOR][/SIZE][/B][SIZE=1]
[COLOR=Magenta]Pentax XW 10mm,  Vixen LVW 22mm, Celestron X-Cel 5mm,
Meade Series 5000 UWA 6.7mm, Orion Expanse 15mm,
Celestron 4mm, Andrews UWA  2" 30mm.  Celestron ED 2" 2x Barlow
Filters: UHC/OIII/ & various others.     Starry Night Software.   7x50 & 10x60 Binos
[/COLOR][/SIZE][/FONT][SIZE=1][/SIZE]
It'll come out like this.

Code:
Saxon 10" F/5 Dob.
Pentax XW 10mm,  Vixen LVW 22mm, Celestron X-Cel 5mm,
Meade Series 5000 UWA 6.7mm, Orion Expanse 15mm,
Celestron 4mm, Andrews UWA  2" 30mm.  Celestron ED 2" 2x Barlow
Filters: UHC/OIII/ & various others.     Starry Night Software.   7x50 & 10x60 Binos

There you go Suzy, isn't it good to have some handy chaps on this forum, and by the way one of them is not me.
I didn't know this either

Hmmm,

Me thinks Suzy is making space for all the goodies Santa may have brought her.....?

Must have been especially good last year?

Now I know I call RB the "Eliminator".......

Perhaps Mike can now be the Reformatinator?

Although, with all the excess code removed and keeping with the Arnie theme, maybe.....

The "Eraser" ???

Cheers

Chris

Your too funny Chris. No extra goodies for Xmas I'm afraid, I just wanted to add my name for my telescope, I think it's a ripper name .

Many thanks everyone for taking the trouble to help me and to Mike for going to all that trouble and sorting it for me.

I remember that now Warren!

Perhaps your "Starfinder" dob should be renamed "Found A STAR!"

Cheers

Chris
