M45 , well half of it

Hi All,

Long wait for the moon to rise last night so I attempt to point at something. At least the focus was OK. only 14 shots taken so a lot of noise in the pic, and no darks taken as I wasn't really gonna do this.

I pushed the level a bit as I could only do 10 second exposures at 1600ISO. I think I managed to get a tiny bit of nebula colour out of it.

Oh I still don't have a coma corrector.

At least you can see the sky and you're having fun Malcolm. Along with that you learn something everytime you have a got at something even if your gear isn't optimal for it. I wouldn't be too worried just because you can't fit M45 in - plenty of other small objects the widefield people can't get at.

Nice clean image Malcolm. The shorter focal length helps with big targets like this. Noise doesn't seem to be to much of a problem at this image size.
Keep at it.

Just a happy snap, taken when I had a bit of time between Jupiter and the moon. Or do you mean Orion shot?
