I am new to this astronomy stuff so can you explain to me what a 2 x barlow is good for viewing wise. I have a celestron astromaster 130 and it has the plossl eyepieces but i am looking at upgrading to a quality eyepiece Thanks.

Basically it will double the magnification of your current views thru your eyepieces - eg if you use it with a 25mm eyepiece then with the 2X Barlows it will be as if it's a 12.5mm eyepiece
