Lost 12.5" Mirror

Anyone seen a 12.5" zerodur mirror floating about? If so please contact Australia Post and let them know where it is - they seem to have no idea

Oh, for F Ratio's SAKE!

Surely the focal point of Australia Post should be the safe delivery of such a cherised acquisition?

If AP gave a focault about their customers, they would surely understand that the value of some items they are supposed to deliver is parabolically more important than their true dollar value.

It should be their PRIMARY concern to determine the whereabouts of Lars' delivery, even if means grinding their fingers to the bone by searching through their consignment notes or aluminising their workforce to stress how important it is to find the item in question.

It is quite grating to hear of this "disappearance" and it is certainly very Ronchi to hear how unprofessional it is to misplace something so valuable....

Surely, Australia Post's objective now is to locate said missing item with the express purpose of delivering it in a timely fashion and then reflect on exactly WHAT went wrong so that it never happens again.

All the best in finding the mirror, I hope Australia Post can get their Schmidt together and stop Mak - ing fools of themselves.....!

Cheers

Chris

[this should give Jenchris a run for her money in the "pun" stakes.....]

Must be the time of year. I've got a package with Toll which has gone AWOL after some big stuff up was made involving 3 different packages. I received one by mistake (they put my redirection label on it!) and what happened to the other two (one being mine) who knows.

They only just picked up the mistaken delivery yesterday after having dropped it off at work 2 days ago...**sigh**

Maybe I'll get it today? It's only been a week after the troubles first started (long story).

I feel your pain.

Mirror MIA

Thank you for all the sympathetic comments. It is comforting (but not surprising) to know I'm not the only one in the predicament

Believe it or not, the mirror was only going from Bathurst to Sydney - I would not have thought there would be that many opportunities to loose it between here and there

I sent the mirror Express Post and at a fair premium over normal shipping. Despite having a tracking number Australia Post are not sure where it is. At least it is well packed, it would need a tank to destroy the mirror, wherever it has ended up.

In the meantime the other RCOS telescope parts which I have been refurbishing are feeling very lonely, I dont fancy buying a new optical set though.

This is the first major stuff up I've had, although the C11 that was sent to Austria from the US, comes a close second.

Mirror has been spotted lurking somewhere in Croydon Park

AP reports that the mirror has been spotted in Croydon Park (the intended destination) but cant confirm. So if you see a suspicious looking mirror in that area, dont take any chances - report immediately to the authorities and let them deal with it.

Perhaps a bit early to celebrate but that is much better than yesterdays response which was basically: wha!

I think I will drive it to Sydney myself next time

The Austrians have recieved a few of our packages over the years, but nothing expensive like a C11 - that's amazing. Perhaps we should change our name to Ostralia to avoid confusion.
