Kens 'trap' reprocessed!!!!

Hi all.

Dave P sent me Kens (Ballaratdragons) CD ROM through the post to me & I've been having a play with it tonight. (18th Jan)

This image I was solely concerned with dragging out some cloud details, later I'll concentrate on getting the most out of the AVI by trying to get the most stars visible.

I have no idea about processing DSO's so I just did the best I could.

All images stacked (173) no waveletts. Plenty of tone balance in picture publisher. Noise reduction & sharpening in Neatimage.

WaddayareckonKen??

John, what have you done? Ken's original was much better. Is this meant to be a joke? If not, then sorry Asi! but maybe you should stick to planets. Full marks for trying though.

I have signed the CD & you must sign it too before sending it to the next IIS member of your choice.

If U wanna risk it for a biscuit, send me your details!

Actually, the whole idea behind this was to see how many stars we could drag out of the final image. But then I got on a roll of trying to get some cloud detail out of it.

On the CD, it's just the AVI so you will have to stack it. Process etc etc. 173 frames untracked in not all that nice seeing conditions by the looks of the AVI.

You picked up lots of nice detail and colour.

You'll have us all lined up to get our images processed.
I'd like to see what could be done with a shakey avi of saturn.

I have run the Avi through Registax again to see if I could get it any better.

Here is the 'Registax Only' version for you to copy and play with in PhotoShop or other programs. As you can see, there are plenty of stars visible. It is the best I can get it.

I have written my Registax settings on the pic if you want to try it yourself in Registax.

Either play with the attached pic, or Davo put the link here if you want to download the whole Avi and try it in Registax - http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...ead.php?t=6803

Lots of luck!

Well, I had a quick bit of a go with your pic in photoshop. I'm not very good at brining out detail. I tried to bring out some of the gas (doesn't look as good as Asi's) as well as some of the stars surrounding the area more. I'm also downloading the avi to have a go with

Nice try Chrissyo,

Forget about the neb gas. There's plenty of pics of that. See how many stars you can find in the trap, that's the trick. There's not a lot of multiple trap star pics.

Good luck with the Avi!
