Just a note about the mount if I may: I used to have a nexstar SE mount (the 4/5 version - this one is the 6/8 sturdier version) and I have been impressed: very quiet, great pointing accuracy, very compact and extremely versatile as it accepts vixen dovetails! One of the best goto compact altaz mount in its class I reckon!

Do you happen to know how old (approximately) is the tube and the mount?

BTW if I didn't have an 8" LX90 Meade SCT I would have taken it by now, although I am still tempted because of its compact size.

the OTA was owned from new by a forum member - i am the second owner and he obtained it in 1997. As for the mount - i also bought that from a forum member to put with this ota and to use the lunt with it, and the Nexstar SE has only been out a few years. I just dont get it out to use. beautiful optics and has been housed in the case since i have owned it, only coming out on special occations.
