Nanny state strikes again!

I've just bought a packet of peanuts. On the label is the message "May contain traces of peanuts"

We should be used to this. Why?

I bought a meat pie that (I think) also said "May contain traces of meat"

Actually, I've just reread the label. It says "Unsalted Peanut" and the ingredients are listed as "Peanut, coconut oil", so may be they really only wanted to put one peanut in the packet which would have justified the "may contain traces of nuts" message. Lucky me! They put in a whole packetful by mistake.

Seeing that neither peanuts nor coconuts are in fact nuts the "may contain traces of nuts" warning may be appropriate, if the odd walnut crumb could slip into the bag.

Cheers
Steffen.

Nope. It definitely says "may contain traces of PEAnuts" I didn't have a "pea" second time I wrote it.

Blimey Geoff, I suppose you have to give them 10 points for stating the bleeding obvious.
