Ex-Camera Shop Stock

Hi All,
while not altogether of an Astro subject, I wanted to advise that I have "inherited" a van full of "stuff" from a recently closed down camera store.
Some of the items are new, eg, filters etc. Some are old to very old, eg, some old Pentax lenses, etc, some are run of the mill generic stuff, Tamron lenses etc, and some of it is simply junk.
There is movie stuff, still stuff, and books like you wouldn't believe. Some of the more valuable stuff, Leica/Rollei equipment will probably go via e bay in the US, and I am slowly starting to sell some of it locally on an auction site.
I don't intend making an inventory, there is simply too much, but if there is anything that you have always searched for send me an e mail and ask.
I have a rough idea of what is in there, but I am still finding all manner of things. I didn't know that there very that many different types of camera case for example.

hmm any lenses that fit a Canon?

Pictures Houghy? No way, there are boxes and boxes.
Nothing I/R Paul, but quite a few UV/1A/Red filters, so maybe the red??
Mike. An older Biafora (spelling, I'll check tomorrow) Big, heavy/ugly, but looks as sturdy as. A few FD Canon lenses, nothing that will slip onto your Canon digital though.

Not on essentials, Ive wasted a fair bit mainly on some plumbing work

Any Nikon gear Gary? I'd be interested mainly in good quality F mount (after 1978) lenses (MF or AF) and possibly an old camera body, as long as they're in good condition.

33 South: Nothing like that I am afraid, more run of the mill wide to tele stuff.
Jonathan: Nothing AF in the F mount, but a couple of 135mm teles, both pre AI, and a couple of 500mm f8 mirror (catadioptric) lenses. Stacks of Nikon filters, and focus screens.
Really I am only just finding things here. I'll keep you posted.

I dug through a few of the Tamrons for someone else.
There are a couple of zooms, and also primes in the 300/5.6, 200/3.5, 135/2.8, 135/2.5.
There is also a Tokina 500mm mirror in Canon FD (which I believe can be adapted. Having said that that is a small heap of Canon FD and FL lenses, both zoom, and prime.

Vingster:
Plenty of Pentax prime as well, all M42.
Takumars 135/2.5, 135/3.5, 55/2, plus a few older screw mount cameras complete with lenses. Pentax SV with 50/1.4, Pentax SV with 55/1.8, and clip on meter, and Pentax SP with 55/1.8.
Also a couple of oddball ones, a Tokina 35/2.8, and a Yashica 35/2.8.

Some bargains to be had huh??

I bought an inexpensive FD-EF adapter on ebay, a copy of the genuine Canon unit http://stores.ebay.com.au/kievcamera , it seems to work fine for daylight work, haven't tested it yet for Atsro use. Aperture control is manual, metering still works OK.

nothing shorter than 35mm full stop.

Phil. This is a good way to get lenses for the multitudes of Canons out there: get the adaptor, and then buy the el cheapo lenses that abound.

Gary, I will post more as I get the chance to test the adapter at night. The reason I bought it was that I have 28, 50mm and 135mm FD lenses, all of which I was very happy with for film use. I'm hoping that they will serve me again for widefiled work.

I'd be interested in knowing some prices of say a widefield 55 or 35. also do you have closeup filters in 52mm?
if so how much... you can PM the price if ya want

thank you.
I have known of these sorts of adpators for a while, and really they are a gem of an idea.
One could buy a few older but perfectly good FD lenses, and use them on the latest EOS cameras. May be a good move to keep the idea to yourself, otherwise eveyone will want one!!
