Meade SN-10 OTA [PRICE REDUCTION]

Due to an imminent relocation I am reluctantly selling my Meade SN-10 OTA. This is a 10" (254mm) f/4 fast Schmitt Newtonian optical tube assembly (with no mount). It was to be the basis for my next telescope.

I purchased it from an IceInSpace member about six months ago, with the idea of mounting it on an EQ6 Pro. Anything smaller is unlikely to be sufficient, as the OTA is quite large and windage likely to be significant.

The OTA has not seen starlight since I bought it (to my shame).

It comes with a Crayford 10x focuser and a finder scope.

As it is not boxed I would greatly prefer pickup from Western Sydney, however if a dead-serious buyer from elsewhere is keen to pay packing costs I will courier with E-GO.

I will post pics of the OTA this evening (DV).

Price is $500, which represents a fairly good bargain for a 10" f/4 Schmitt-Newtonian.

Please feel free to contact me via PM or email to

tonybarry AT aapt DOT net DOT au

Regards,
Tony Barry

Apologies for not answering questions in a timely manner. I have been a bit crook yesterday.

The scope's exact age is unknown to me. It is part of an LXD55, so I'd imagine about six or seven years old.

This scope also has no markings on it to indicate the ultra high transmission coatings. I presume that it is simply multicoated (as it exhibits that green reflection common to multicoated optics).

The focuser is not the stock unit. It has been replaced by a GSO Crayford 10:1 focuser.

The OTA comes with two rings, a dovetail bar, and a 6 x 30 finder.

Pics to come ... hopefully today.

Regards,
Tony Barry
