TV price increase!?!

FYI...was reading over on CN that there is some indication that TV will be raising prices effective Feb 1st...

Don't know if it is true or if it really means anything to anyone here but I found it a little interesting (and want to increase my post count)...

Keeping with the conspiracy theme from the General Forum...maybe it is just a ploy by retail Astronomy shops to encourage eyepiece purchases in early 2006...

Will this news move you to "pull the trigger" on a new piece of glass?

If true, will other manufacturers of eyepieces follow suit and increase prices too? Should we pre-emptively contact the ACCC to stop this collusion from occuring?

In the immortal words of Kelly Bundy (from the TV show Married with Children) "The mind wobbles"...

Someone on CN claims to have rung TV and confirmed a price increase on 1st Feb. No indication of the amount of increase.

It's not every manufacturer you can ring up and talk to the Boss, as the profile of Televue in one of the astro magazines indicates you can do.

I think I read something in US Sky and Tel about the price increase a little while back, I have been aware of it for a couple of weeks at least but it won't affect me, I have all the bits I need for some time to come.

I might have to change the scale on my Save-O-Meter! Not Happy Jan!

pointless wars = higher taxes = higher prices.

Maybe I'll have to change to buying stuff from peaceful countries, with lower taxes.
Go the Vixens!!!

Can't see that a price rise will make much difference; IMO they're already grossly overpriced. Hopefully one of the chinese manufacturer will get their act together and produce an equivalent at a decent price.

Vixens are Japenese, Japan is involved in the same pointless war as us

As for price hiking, simple, I just wont buy Tele vue products anymore, vote with my feet.

Quality wise the Chinese are catching up so quickly that within 10 years I believe they will be up there with boutique companies like Televue and at a fraction of the price.
