Tarantula with colour.

Hi,

Colour added. Taken last Saturday night (thankyou Paul for that lovely dark sky) through a Williams Optics Flt 110. Guided with PHD and stacked in DSS and processed in Photoshop. Camera was a QHY-9 at -20c.

Three hours worth of Hydrogen Alpha and 40 minutes of RGB (taken last night). The subs were 15 minutes each and had 12 before I had to quit of Ha and 5 minutes for RGB 2x2 binning. I do not have any darks for this time frame so used my darks for 10 and 20 minutes as well. My processing skills need work. I wish I could do a course.

Comments welcome.

Hi Mark,

A very nice photo. The colour gives it a 3D look.
I also like the colours in the surrounding stars.

Thanks
Ross.

Its got more oomph than any tarant I've ever managed for sure - must be all that Ha. Great shot Mark!
Bit of rotation or curvature in the corners my only comment if I'm going to be picky?

Great details in there Mark. Ha lum will kill all your colors though. I find Ha, HaOiii, Oiii works well to bring all the blues in a bi-color rendering. If you shot RGB as well you might want to stick a little Ha in the green and boost the blues see how it turns out. Top work though. I'd be drooling if I ever got a spider that good.
