G'day all,
Arrived home from 42 day UK & Europe holiday tuesday gone. Now starting to get the home under control and preparing for first day back at work tomorrow.
Had a great time while away. 158GB of photo's between the two of us. Astronomy points of interest: A day at the Paris Observatory talking to some professionals about occultations and other amateur involvement stuff and having a personal tour around. A day at Greenwich Observatory. Saw the Edinburgh Observatory but it was closed for renovations.
I didn't end up getting to pinpoint Polaris

Just not in the right place at the right time (either in big cities or clouded out regional parts, or too busy doing the tourist stuff (which was mostly the case). Hopefully next time I go to the northern hemisphere I'll see more stars. I do have some 15 second shots I took at various locations through light pollution to later analyse to see if I can work out what stars I could see.
Not sure where my astronomy and IIS time sits at the moment. I have only a slight incling to get back to doing some astronomy, the summery weather is helping that, but not sure how much I'll end up doing soon. Also not feeling the same obsession to post here every 5 minutes
Company I work for merged while away, so starting back at a what is effectively a new job on Monday. That'll limit IIS'ing at work!
See how things go 'eh.
