Helix with vc200

Another helix. Here is this months project. The helix was a lot harder than I thought to get the detail that I wanted. Weather was most unco-operative.

I always like a helix, Brett! The weather hasn't been the best for these things...

Nice helix Brett, It's a much harder target than we think. It's big but it's quite dim and takes a lot of exposure to dig out much of the intricate detail it holds in the core.
Well done. Looks like you have the VC well collimated.

I'm surprised, I have looked at hundreds of images of the helix, and yet for the first time it's obvious it's a double ring........ Go figure. Cant see the forest for the trees
Good stuff brett

Hi Brett

Looks promising but I am sure 13.5hrs through that scope could yield more. DDP can dim an image have you ddp'd it? I usually DDp then log stretch in Astroart, then curves in photoshop, anchor the ends of the graph and pull the line around until you are happy.

Still, it's a rather imposing image

Mike
