Pixcel 255 For Sale for cheaper!

Hi all,
Decided to knock this down a couple of hundred to $600 ono + freight. I haven't been trying to sell it really but I will do if noone here wants the lttle beasty.

Details

This is an SBIG ST-5c labelled as a Celestron Pixcel 255.

It's a cooled, mono parallel port camera requiring a PC to operate and may be used as a small-frame sensitive mono camera or as an excellent autoguider, which is what I have been using it for for several years.

It's in perfect working order and comes in a very tough Pelican hard case very similar to this one http://www.sbig.com/sbwhtmls/cases.htm

Specs on the camera can be found here
http://www.company7.com/sbig/products/st5c.html
or here
http://www.company7.com/celestron/products/pix255.html

Feel free to contact me for more details.

Your a hard man Eddie. I'm just glad I don't have a parallel port on my new laptop. What would the system requirements be to run this any way?

No worries Paul, I can include a photo of my parallel port for free!

Requirements would be any windows PC from Windows 98 up with CCDOPS as the autoguider software or any other camera control software that supports the ST5c. Most I've seen do. The system requirements for the ST5c alone are slight so I reckon a Pentium 90 would do it ok if it didn't have to do anything else.

I used to use the PixCel255 on a PII 166Mhz, 64M RAM Win 98 Second Edition Notebook and it worked fine.

Cheers

Hi Eddie

I plan to be there this year. Are you still using the 6" Mak-Newt and ST10? I upgraded to a C9.25 since we last met. The PixCel 255 sure sounds tempting as an autoguider!

If I buy it, will you GUARANTEE my images will be as good as yours?

Cheers

Dennis

Yes, I'm still using the MN61 and ST10. Will probably have this combo for a while. Until I can afford a 25" RC and ST11k The C9.25 is a great little scope. I've seen some awesome images from them over the years.
