Girraween NP

Hi all,

We had a couple of nights at Twinstar Observatory (at Ballandean near Stanthorpe) last weekend. I had been looking forward to some time on their 46cm reflector, as well as testing out my 50D under dark skies, but unfortunately we were completely clouded out both nights .

Here are a few images from Girraween National Park. We did the Sphinx and Turtle Rock, in very overcast conditions with regular periods of drizzle. First time I've done this walk, and it was well worth it!
These images were taken between the drizzle showers, using my 50D and 15-85 IS USM lens.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
Stephen

Looks like a great sport to get away. Yeah, like Chris & Troy have mentioned - man you get to go to some pretty amazing spots, how do you manage to do it? Love to know your secret

Thanks Troy, Chris and Adam. It was good to give the 50D a bit more of a workout.

No real secret Adam, we just try and mark a weekend on the calendar every month or two and pick somewhere to go. Otherwise we would end up being home all the time

Cheers,
Stephen
