NGC6124 - Southern Gem

Hi Folks,

I'd like to share with you an image of the southern open cluster NGC6124 in Scorpio. This is quite rare object among astrophotographers, nevertheless I decided to give it a try. The observations have been obtained at our remote observatory in Atacama desert.

ASA DDM60 mount, STL-11000, FSQ106ED,

L:R:G:B:H_alpha=900:300:300:300:120 min (32 hours in total)

Huge amount of exposures, huge amount of detail and huge fov.

Winning setup combo... pin point stars.

If anything, perhaps just a bit more saturation and a tiny bit more contrast..
this is imo of course...
Then on the other hand, the image does have a very subtle/ delicate look as is.

Overall a very pleasing wide field.

Sensational image Yuri, beautifully processed.

That exposure time seems quite extensive for this area though, particularly given it was taken under dark skies, what was your reasoning?

Funnily enough that cluster is on my imaging list for this weekend with the Starfire and PL16803, ya beat me to it

I just love this shot. Been looking at it probably for the past hour or so. It's got every color, every details you can think of within one fov. The stars are to die for and the look very soft and natural. It has so much depth. Just breathtaking.
