Helix

It's taken me quite some time to get around to posting however here's one from Astrofest - Helix Neb 39x5min subs using the QHY8pro and 10" Newt. I also managed to capture what I believe is Asteroid (92) Undina.

I'm not sure about the colour balance (some of the stars seem a bit green however I'm quite pleased with the detail given the conditions.

Comments/advice welcome!

Nice one Peter. Looks like you've got tracking focus etc working great there. Must be happy with that.

Dave and Rob,

Thanks for the encouragement. It was quite a trying week for me with the weather and power problems. I also had a lot of issues getting the colimation right so wasted a lot of nights with dodgy looking stars. It was good however to get the wispy arc in this image even if the helix itself is a bit soft.

Can relate totally. My first star party with rain
Counted myself lucky not to have lost power at any stage though. Managed 2 nights in the end out of 5 planned, but wasted hours on the first night fiddling with software, and fog came in by 3am both nights.

Still, was better than being at work.....

Very nice amount of detail. Your 10 inch and 8pro seem to work well together.
It is a little green. Multiweb has a nice little plug in which does a great job at removing the green. Give Marc a yell and I am sure he will send you the URL to the plugin.

Thanks for the comments John, Dave, Doug and Peter. Based on all the feedback I'll have to give that green channel some more attention.
