Hi all,
Need some guidance here.
I live in light pollution central and would like to hit up with some narrow band imaging.
Further to receiving my baadar 2" UHC filter today from the states ($99

). I would like to do some h-alpha with my d5000.
Now, I have searched and cannot find information on transmission % with the stock filter on the cam, but would expect it would be along the lines of ~30%.
I can go the modded route, pick up a cheap modded canon, or search franticly for a 20Da (70% transmission unmodded) - is modded even a word ??. But I would want to prevent myself from spending 2000+ on a dedicated ccd.
So my question is, what results could I potentially get with h-alpha and my d5000? Is it even worthwhile spending the money to get the filter, as they are not cheap themselves.
On the other hand, if there are any willing fellows out there with a ha filter that is prepared to do some testing with me beforehand to check on the results? That would be super duper!!
Thanks in advance
Cheers
Rob
