PSA - Large sturdy case - Jaycar

Hi all,

Following from this thread http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...ad.php?t=48274 regarding "knock off" Pelican style cases. I always frequent my local Jaycar store to see what items they have that will tickle my fancy.

Today, I noticed an item I had not seen. Best of all, it is only $79.

downside, it is not a waterproof style, but is lined with hard foam and the case itself is pretty rigid.

pics attached.

Cheers
Rob

Great for the EQ6 mount, just needs some extra foam to stop it knocking about when carrying, but apart from that it works a treat

After playing around just then on how I can get the HEQ5 in, I figured I can use some of the foam I had lying around, cut up the styro from the original packaging.

I also realised the hinge on the lid allows the top to be taken off.

All in all, It is looking to be a very good case.

Good excuse to take the other half to Jaycar so you can pick something up for yourself, show her these and these.

Hmmm, I'll have to take my Celestron FirstScope finder on a roadtrip to Jaycar too. I'm still using the box she came in, and it won't last too much longer, , and the big finder will need a new home, .

Hey alex,

I have a largeish pelican knockoff I am not using. It will need foam though.

I'll bring it along when I see you. Can trade you for a case of beer.
