Cool Carbon Spectra

Hi All,
haven't done this for a while, but I imaged some spectra a couple of weeks back and finally got them processed this afternoon. I took a number of carbon star spectra, selected from the Stephenson star catalogue, and in a convenient position for me to image.
I find them interesting due to their pronounced absorption lines, mainly relating the various cyanogen compounds formed in their outer shells, plus TiO2 + other complex molecules.

Looking to get a S class star spectra, as they are even cooler than the N or C class....a bit of a challenge..

Also added a Neptune spectra, with the sun spectra (G2V) removed.

The Neptune spectrum is very good compared to my planetary efforts to date.

I notice your intensity scale is quite high. Have you normalised your spectra?

No they haven't been normalised. I just did the instrument response correction to get that right, but I'm still working on the "normalise to continuum" steps through Vspec. I'm not sure I ever that step correct, and it's been a while since I've used Vspec I'm having to re-learn quite a lot.
