Need encoder connector advice

I have two servo motors I bought from ebay. I am using them to motorise my mount. On one of the motors two of the wires attached to the encoder have broken off. A friend has tried unsuccessfully to re-attach them and advised me to get a new connector. This has proved difficult. I have tried Jaycar, Altronics and another store whose name I can't remember. I have also searched the online catalogue for element 14 (formerly Farnell). The connector is approximately 2 mm wide x 13mm long. It has 10 holes for wires.

Can anyone advise where I might one of these (See photo attached)? My frind describes it as a 10-way JST-type crimp connector.

That looks very similar to the balance charging connectors I used to use to charge up my lithium polymer batteries for an electric heli. By memory, the connectors were only 8 pin.

You might find that it's a 10 pin JST-XH connector like this

Rod,
try to establish the pitch of the connector (distance between adjacent pins.. measure the distance between pin 1 and pin 10, divide this number by 9).
If it is 1/10" (100mils, 2.54mm) then it is easy to find the replacement, almost anything with the same pitch will do.
Dean's link looks a good one.. this is set of 5 connectors (male and female), crimping is easy (special tool), but not necessary to attach the wires.

I think I have worked it out now. I was not understanding pitch correctly so thanks Bojan for clarifying that. The pitch for my connectors looks to be 1.25mm. Once I could ascertain that I could locate what looks like the right connector and matching crimp socket on the element 14 catalogue.

Peter I really appreciate your generous offer. If the connectors I have ordered turn out to be incorrect, I may yet take you up on it.

The little metal headers are very fiddly to attach if you don't have the right tool which in turn is very expensive. I tried with solder tweezers, small pliers etc and the connectors kept breaking so I was very relieved to find these pre-crimped wires.
