SEQLD Dark sky areas.

I took the scope a little bit inland last weekend to get into some darker skies. Im on the Gold coast and I headed to a park on Clagiraba Rd that is about 20Km from the city. The sky directly ahead as well as the western sky were beautiful but the eastern sky was still bathed in light. Could only just make out the LMC.

Can anyone who knows the area recommend a good place to go take a scope where the light pollution isnt too bad.

Head a little further inland. I used to do Astronomy at Moogerah Dam (school campsite). Maybe you can find something around the Rathdowney area?
