celestron 10inch star hopper

Hi All,

So after being scopeless for a good 6 months after i sold my 6inch jaegers refector on this very site after many years of non use,

i am on the hunt for a cheapy as i am thinking to get involved again lol and looking to see if i want to major a more major commitment.

a 10inch star hopper dob with little to no use is on ebay for a decent price that i am looking at,

has any got experiance with these are they good optically?

i have a mix of interest between planetary (primary) and deep space so i feel it may be a good mix in the interm till i am willing to commit to a eq mounted refractor / newt when the time comes.

if worse comes to worse i wouldn;t have blown that much money and if i get the bug again it's happy days lol

whats everyone think?

Not sure how long it's been since these were sold but it looks like the Skywatcher solid tube dobs which IMHO were very good. $300 is prob an ok price but you'd be better off picking something up from IIS Classifieds if it got close to the $600 mark. I've seen plenty of newer dobs go for that or cheaper on these forums.
