vdB 151

Here is a very faint vdB object in Lacerta. It could use a lot more exposure time, but time is not what I have in abundance!

It sure is a faint dust lane, but the framing, star field and those tiny galaxies make it a very nice image. Thanks for sharing Tom.

Great vista. Star colors are very nice and the dark neb really sticks out on top. What always strikes me in your shots is the contrast and how well you capture the faint nebulosity even close to a bright star like that blue cloud next to the central yellow star. If I tried that I'd probably get a big washed out halo and no cloud at all.

When I first looked at this I thought it was just a star field. However as I ventured around the field I found the puff of gas and then one galaxy in one corner and another in the other and a few other areas of interest. I love the colour of your sky backgrounds too. They are always or from what I have seen are neutral grey or charcoal colour. Any tips on how you go about getting this consistent result?

Lovely image Tom.

A very delicate image and an object that could very easily be lost in the processing. Masterfully done.

Greg.
