Argo Navis DSC & Losmandy GM-8/G-11 Shaft Encoder Kit

Hi all

It's time for my beloved Argo Navis to move on. I now have a new mount with goto capability so the Argo is unfortunately superfluous to my needs.

If bought separately, the encoders might also be very useful to Gemini-equipped G-11's. The Gemini system will also accept inputs from optional shaft encoders (the same as used in Losmandy digital setting circles), which allow the telescope to be positioned by hand, yet still retain pointing information.

Argo Navis (RRP AU$618) plus Serial Cable (RRP AU$19) Disk and mount cradle, Losmandy shaft encoder kit for GM-8/G-11 incl. optional delrin gear covers and y-cable set (RRP AU$581) - together AU$1,218:

I'll throw in shipping via registered Australia Post to anywhere in Australia. I'll also wait a week to sell the units together, at which point (Sat 7th Aug) I'll separate them if required. If I see two people, one committing to the Argo Navis and the other to the encoder set prior to then, they will go to those people straight away. Everything is in very good condition.

Argo Navis: $450

G-11 Encoder Kit: $400

$800 for both if bought as a bundle.

I still have mine. Have you thought about buying a G8 to put it on rather than sell it Chris

LOL! No, I now have an EM-10 Temma. Luvverly, and much lighter than the G-11. The Sky-90/FS60-C/QHY-9 combo is well within its limits... so I'm happy.

The new beast...

Both units still available...

As stated, whilst the Argo Navis computer is common to all mounts (and will be available separately at the end of next week), the encoder kit I have for sale here is specifically made to fit the Losmandy mounts, and won't fit a Dobsonian-style mount. You'd need to buy the specific kit for your mount if you don't have a G-11 or GM-8.

If the complete bundle isn't picked up by someone before midnight Friday 6th, the Argo Navis itself is committed-to.

Argo and encoders still available as a bundle until then.
