Has something happen

G'Day All,
I am out in the observatory and have notice about 12 to 14 planes doing loops over Singleton which is very unusable in clear weather . Some look like they were coming very close to each other in doing their turnaround . One pair of planes I saw which look like they were about 5 clicks apart and flying in the same direction both turn away from each other in hurry.
Has anyone heard anything

Hi Ian,

Sounds like formation flying practice.
I've seen the RAAF roulettes practice over Sale, Victoria.
According to their site, they have shows coming up in Queensland. Maybe that's what you saw?

There are only six aircraft in the Roulettes not 12-14. Being out near Sngleton I wonder if it has something to do with the flying school out near Cessnock. There is also a Aerobatic and Formation Flying group operating out of Rutherford Airport at Maitland.
