Exclamation IIS Red Light Pen Update

Guys and Gals,

An update about the IIS Red Light Pens:

The supplier had an issue with my order, it just disappeared into the world wide web thingy.

But after sitting on hold for 45 minutes, all is good again and apparently my order was shipped on Friday, which means I should receive it today or tomorrow.

I'll be mailing them out to those that have ordered by the end of the week.

It's not too late to get your order in. See this post for ordering details and this post for what they will look like. They'll have "IceInSpace" engraved on them.

Thanks

Hi guys.

The Red Light Pens have finally arrived! Just in time for xmas.

I'll be going to the post office today to find something suitable to post them in, and will send them off on Monday.

Here's a few pics of what they look like - one with the light off and one with it on! The black thing is a pouch for the pen

The pens are in the mail!

Depending on xmas traffic in the mail, with any luck they should arrive in the next day or three.

Thanks Mike, got mine today..

Its got two modes Click on(pen and light mode).. click off .. click off (pen mode) .. click on(pen and light mode) .. click off .. click Off (pen mode)..

I think this is so you can use the pen without the light on.

Its way cool though brighter than i thought it would be.

D'oh, funny how the mind works sometimes. I noticed this and assumed mine had a dodgy clicker, never thought about using it without the light on

Could have been influenced with another pen Ive got that doesnt give you that choice. Nothin but the best for IIS members.

I got my pens this morning too. Intact thankfully (comiserations 1ponders).

They are very nice indeed. They look great and work really well.

Being the inquisitive type that I am, the first thing I did was to pull one apart. The batteries and the ink reservior are all in one unit. The ink reservior is very small though.

Next question: Will there be ink/battery replacement cartridges available?

Cheers

From my understanding, yes there will be. Though I have no details about it at this stage.

Recieved all (3) of mine today, all working mechanically, but one was low on power, maybe it got switched on while in transit or something, the other two were working fine.

THanks Mike!

Got mine, the envelope was broken open but the pen was intact. Now all I've got to do is work out how to stop it disappearing in to the household Biro vortex....

Tony should have said they cost $20 each that way you could put away 30 into a slush fund for your next astronomy purchase.
