Top Gear

For all the car enthusiasts on the forum break out the fuzzy dice there's a great program on SBS called Top Gear which is on Monday nights , highly entertaining . Saw it for the first time last Monday , its a British show and by chance they reviewed a Holden Monaro under the Vauxhall badge {?}.

Yeah they where carving up a wide firm beach in review with a new chrysler and a Jag , the manaro had to much torque to get a good start in the sprint test but the 3 main guys loved it for handling etc.....they where surprised a Aussie designed car could be pretty good .

This show is for people who have no chance to drive let alone own a 'Car',surely a Ferrarri worth half a meg is for the wankers who can't drive.

As for the rest of the paltry cars that they test. Sad! I saw them on one show saying that the Holden GT whatever it was the best that they had seen! Again very sad. Next week beaten by a heap of crap from france.
They are simply twits appealing to their audience. reinforcing their own puerile
attempts at greatness with drivel.

lateralus - they did the cls amg in may this year http://www.bbc.co.uk/topgear/series_6/prog_1/
i have seen lots of mercs and beemers on that show over time i think - and those big mercs are awesome sounding- i dont watch it religously - but that doesnt matter with foxtel you know you will see most things repeated many times over by chance eventually
u can see what they have covered here http://www.bbc.co.uk/topgear/archive/

No I used to have a Jaguar XK 120 and a 1937 Chev and many other very fast cars.My last fast car was an LTD fully worked (400Hp+), 0 to 100k in under 6 secs.I blueprinted the motor myself.
I just have to laugh at their presumtion and smug indifference.

Sorry

Bert

fair enough Bert - it just seems a bit of harmless entertainment to me? but i'm no expert on such things - they do seem to speak with great authority on everything - so maybe they are on a rocky pedestal if they are wrong.
speaking of holden monaro's did anyone see the 2004 b grade movie with rebadged gto's - called 'the last ride' with dennis hopper - its basically one big add for gto's/monaros!. the U.S. general was showing signs of its current predicament/desperation even back then.
