Venus, Regulus, Mars, Saturn & Iridium 72

Hi all,

There was a nice Iridium flare at 6:07 this evening in Brisbane. Predicted mag was -7, although I don't think it was quite that bright. Anyway, I was able to fit it in the same field as the Venus-Regulus conjunction and Mars and Saturn. The second image shows the planets a few minutes after the flare.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers,
Stephen

Hi Stephen

Now that is just being plain greedy…not content with any 2 of them, you have to bag the whole lot… Venus, Regulus, Mars, Saturn and an Iridium satellite!

Great capture!

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks Dennis! When I first identified the location of this flare using Stellarium I wasn't sure if I'd be able to fit them all in, but it worked out OK using my 18-50 lens at 18mm.

Cheers,
Stephen

Thanks Adam. There's not too many opportunities to get an Iridium flare and 3 planets in the one shot!

Cheers,
Stephen
