I was hoping for something better but this is the best I could do. Perhaps it was due to the undulations of seeing which are evident in the video: see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1Wg4nObg84
Perhaps the lack of good transparency was obscuring some of the details.
A couple of things.
Do you have active cooling on your primary, some of that undulation could be local, due to differences in temp between your mirror and ambient.
You need to have captured the 3 channels in close to 3 min's.
Looking at your sample video I still would have thought that the higher frame rates possible with the Flea3 would have produced a better final image.
Also, when merging your channels you need to align on a surface feature and not the limb. The small white ovals work well with this, it also helps to magnify the image while aligning your channels on one of the white ovals.
Advice appreciated. I don't think I can do much about the rippling as I must set up on a cement patio and look at Jupiter over the roof of a neighbor's house. Once the planet gets higher than 50 degrees that problem will diminish.
Interesting comment about not aligning on the edges of the planet. I'm going to try that as I was assuming the planetary edge is the place to be to lock the images into place.
And yes, I'll be shooting at 60 fps on the Flea3 for my next set which I'll publish here.
