Clavius region with $8 webcam

Sorry the quality isn't great, but the settings are a pain in the proverbial.
These are pretty much straight out of Reggie apart from a quick levels tweak.
The scope is the usual 8" and the webcam is a SHAW from MSY Computers (no longer stocked) for $8. Which has a screw out lens (also screws out so far that it makes a handy web microscope)
The results whilst not the best, are surprisingly good for $8.
I wanted to trial this as a sort of motivation for those cash strapped people that are eager to have a go but don't want to waste hard earned cash on a lemon.
This was my second try (first was on Saturn with credible results) I don't really wish to use this setup on an ongoing basis as I don't want to waste good opportunities on an inferior camera, but it was fun for a while. I might even give it a spin on Jupiter in the morning.
The second pic is a crop of Longomontanus Crater

Clayton, for 8 bucks they are amazing images.
OK so they aren't APOD material but "bang for your buck" I'd rate that as 5 stars.

Excellent work..
Believe me, I have seen MUCH, much worse images with MUCH more expensive gear.

This is a proof for a point that it is not only money that helps achieving a good results..

Thanks Bojan, Ric, and Malcolm.
I went out last night to try a comparison run with the K Cam (840K kindly on loan from K Man) After finally giving up in frustration, I realized tonight that I had bumped the long exposure switch on, which had frustrated all my attempts to set a suitable exposure
Here is Gassendi from last night. Seeing was down a bit as well resulting in a fairly ordinary shot.
