Kinman AVn Zero Hum Telecaster Pickups

[SOLD]

World-leading hum-free guitar pickup technology designed and built right here in Australia! Here’s what master tone craftsman Chris Kinman has to say about them:

Quote:
This set replicates the elusive Fender Broadcaster pickups sound of the early 1950's but without that annoying hum. Thick and focused tone with lots of drive...and they are never muddy. The prominent complex Alnico midrange makes for superb definition with satisfying 'attitude' and plenty of output that cuts effortlessly through the rest of the band (satisfaction guaranteed). This set has prominent high end shimmer and air but a more fuller bodied twang than the 60's Custom set and has wide dynamic range that will delight Tele players who want the extra fat tone and punch of those early Broadcasters. The middle position of the selector switch is a uniquely Kinman tone that some players have said is to die for. My exclusive design allows me to preserve the original appearance of the bridge pickup with white string coil overlay and the neck unit with it's nickeled cover, without sacrificing any performance or tone. It's all there in abundance with nothing missing except for the 60Hz hum, buzz and microphonic whistle.

AVn 48b (bridge) 7.35 K-ohms; Resonance 3.5KHz; Inductance 3.3H; Q 2.69:
Players who know the Fender Broadcaster love the thick, focused, rich and heavy tonal complexity that the 6 special Alnico magnets impart to the sound making this bridge pickup reminiscent of a pedal steel. It's the 'big fist' of the Tele* world. This pickup has got all the clout and none of the hum of the original pickups. The trebles are 'sweet as' with magical prominence of high end shimmer/sparkle and air; but mid definition is outstanding with an extra fat twang factor. The sound is FAT but never muddy. These attributes combine to give it remarkable off-stage definition and punch. The midrange bite is satisfying and the twang is there with a capital 'T' when you dig in. It beaks into crunch easily without any distortion gismos and cleans up nice with sweet, sweet highs when soft pedalled. It's coil is wrapped in cream string just like the original.

AVn-48n (neck pickup with special magnetically invisible nickeled cover) 7.8 K-ohms; Inductance 2.2 H; Resonance 3.5KHz; Q 1.9:
I designed this one to retain the stock appearance with the traditional nickeled cover but to sound like an original Tele neck pickup with the metal cover removed. With this pickup you get more snap and sparkle, increased presence, bright twang and increased dynamic range and output than a regular Tele neck pickup with a cover on, this little beauty sparkles and breathes like no Tele neck pickup (with a cover on) ever did before, in fact it's reminiscent of a great Strat pickup. It has MAGIC imparted from the 6 Alnico rod magnets that yield a delightfully captivating midrange character. This complexity of tone sets Alnico pickups apart from alternate magnet designs, which sound a little on the empty/bland side by comparison.

To kill the hum without killing the tone and preserve the original appearance has taken nothing less than a technological revolution to achieve. Although the specs don't point to a significant difference between this model and my AVn-60n this one is significantly louder, rounder and generally more substantial. Another improvement that players will love is that the string outputs are balanced, no more dull D strings.
Brand new - packaging never opened – this set retails for $260. Yours for just $175, which includes careful packing and registered postage to anywhere in Australia. Inquiries by PM only please.
