Stellarium Rocks on my ATI

Hi Barry

Just thought you would like to know how well your software is running on an Ati card the version of stellarium is 10.4 I have attatched a doc with some details of the computer and Graphics for your info and stellarium is flying along at 86FPS. And from double click to start is less than 3seconds

That is good to hear. Have you tried version 0.10.5. That is even better. The install now gives an option in your start menu to start up in opengl1 for the displays that do not display opengl2 correctly.

This is the same as adding use_qpaintenginegl2 = false in the config.ini so if you are already using it you can use the standard shortcut that will be placed on your desktop.

Now running 10.5 and the frame rate jumped to 140FPS nice

That frame rate is probably incorrect. There is a bug in how the frame rate is displayed. The real frame rate will be much slower but nevertheless it is too fast to see frames updating.

I usually edit the config.ini file to reduce max and min frame rates to 20 and 5. This reduces processor use greatly. IT makes the frame rate 5 while there is no movement but jumps to 20 when you pan.
