A Chinese Solution

I post this with a thought, is this likely to occur in a Western Civilised country like Australia.?
Or are our leaders too tied to the underbelly of big business.
Agreed it has obvious bad points, but you know it will likely succeed.

Sledgehammer policies to curb energy use....
Chinese leaders are unveiling campaign-style measures to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions, including simply closing companies that fall short.
"By the end of July, we will publish all failed corporations to the public," the Minister for Industry, Li Yizhong, told China Central Television.
"These corporations will be forced to shut down by the end of the third quarter."

As far as that is concerned, it a case of "Or are our leaders too tied to the underbelly of big business". It's just as bad in Europe and the US, more so in fact. Has been for over 100 years and is precisely why we're in the mess we find ourselves in. It can be stopped, and changed. But are the people themselves willing to do anything to make it happen?? That's the questions which needs asking and answering.

Tough measures, maybe too harsh for many, yes, but good on them. It's about time some of these megacorporations were put in their place.

Hell no....they probably as bad if not worse than most countries. I'd say there'd be ulterior motives behind what they're doing.
