This is Eta Carinae in Ha from last night's session ... using the Baader 7nm Ha filter meant I only had one guide star to choose from when guiding at 2 second exposures ... some choice ... so this image has some banding.

Great focus, guiding and framing. 10/10. Outstanding data and dynamic range. I feel you can get so much more out of your data though as it is tops. Have you tried CCD Stack? There are so many aspects of the picture you can control prior to post process in PS. Have a go at it. There is soo much more in there. You'll be surprised.
Very nice Steve, lots you can do with a Ha image like this. Some sharpening and a bit of a reduction in saturation will show so much detail you have to wonder why anyone images big red nebulas any other way.

Cheers Doug ... I really like the details revealed that are otherwise hidden in colour images ... the only thing I don't like about Ha imaging is the long guiding exposures due to having a built in guide chip in my ST2000XCM ... having said that I have no intention of buying a different camera.
