Round 2 - Regulus and Mars 08 june 2010

Well last night i managed to do some guided work on this - its amazing how much mars is shuffling along. Anyway its deep enough to makout the dwarf galaxy near Regulus, and you can see how much mars has moved in 1hour and 26 minutes. Cooled Canon 40D 127ED on G11 guided.........

stacked in DSS and processed in Pixinsight 1.6

ok i inverted the image and pushed it so i could show the dwarf galaxy - its horrible but i dont care LOL least i got it

the first one was monday nights effort and the second was last nights - least i can say i got the Galaxy (or part thereof)

A lovely image Dave – you’ve got down to around Mag 18 with this image. Here is a screen shot from The Sky showing another galaxy, PGC 29573 at Mag 15.8.

What were the exposure details – sub-frame duration, etc.?

thanks Dennis - 2 minute subs to make 1hour and 26 minmutes using cooled canon 40D ISO 800

Didn't think you'd get deep enough...pretty good with both Regulus and Mars around!!
