Frankston 1966 UFO sighting Documentry tonight

Saw a news article on the Frankston (Victoria) 1966 UFO incident,there is a big documentary on Foxtell tonight on it,I'd like to watch it,can someone watch it and let us know what the program was like.I do not have Foxtell.

I hope I am aloud to talk about this event on IIS,as most would 'poo-hoo' such reports,But going by the news article I saw,there really was a 'hush up' by the military about this.Why?-the item seen may very well have just been a miltary item ending up in wrong area of sky after test,UFO stands for unidentified flying object,not fly saucer.so it would really be interesting to hear and see all the facts.

As we all know,T.V chanels sensationalize things for their own benifit.But something must have went on that day over frankston,200 school kids cant all tell the same story,and school teachers and principals-its not in their job description to tell stories,The most compelling bit I thought was that one of the school teachers had a fairly good camera took photos,the military forced the camera from her,not just the film (if they did that to me,they would have to prize that L 400 out my stone cold dead hand)giggles.

But it does all seem a bit odd,be interesting to know a bit more about the incident.

Its most unlikely that there are flying saucers etc.As they are never recorded by amateur astronomers who are often (when its not cloudy,more giggles)outside at night.with all the equipment we have and the time spent doing what we do it does seem odd that no one has ever got footage of such an event,for good reason-most things can be explained by regular sky watchers.

But the Frankston event is an interesting one,hope someone can watch it tonight.

I was living in Clayton South in 1966. I had not heard of it.
And no Foxtel.

These links make good reading showing both sides of the alleged event. For me the second link says it all, like all UFO stories it has grown legs of its own and got bigger as time goes by. Simply put, the second link gives a very good account of what it most likely was, so for me no longer unidentified. The so called "cover up"... well there is a good explanation of that too. I give both links so that you can draw your own conclusions. For me nothing out of this world happened on that day.

I checked up on the story and at the time I lived 800 meters from where this incident took place. I also used to know one of the eye witnesses.
Still, first I have heard of it.

Well it looks like Peter has some interesting information,once again looks like a media managed event,just like 'Front Line' used to do.(does anyone know where you can buy front line DVDs,it was so funny-but all true)

Thanks Peter,the second link is very,very good.

Knowing many crank old farmers in my time,I know that they would be likely

to burn the balloon,save anyone tampling over their farm.

Anyhow,A most interesting read,My family lived in the area where it all happened,and I never heard them mention it.

Amazing how these stories grow legs!

I wouldn't say anything bad but the old crackheads as with many people that have no knowledge of technology or have an active interest in subjects like this would look at this event with suspicion. Foxtel and other place make a lot of money creating these doco's their not about to make money on a burning balloon.

Media will continue to cover up UFO sighting as long as possible until it is proved conclusively.

Even the media should have picked on that event that occured late yesterday over Sydney but more money is made but calling it a UFO. The Russian incident was reported as a UFO right up till it was proven conclusively. But the real issue is the acronym UFO, which can be terrestial or non terrestrial but has been coin a term for aliens. It has lost it's true meaning.

EDIT misread crackhead was incorrect, but does represent some of the people that see UFO's and report them as alien

watched it last night interesting doco!!!!!

what suprises me is that everyone is told not to talk about it!
the teachers camera was taken away!!
one of the children that was next to the object was taken who no where and never seen again!!!!
the site was burned so no evidence!!!!

I watched the one on CH7 the other night on this story. Classified as the "WESTALL" incident.
Seemed pretty interesting story. And more of a believable one at that.
It also showed that the Australian Military (assuming blue suits to equal air force), that were heavily involved too.

For the Military to be there quickly (at the school), I'd be pretty sure they were doing something nearby in a field or industrial park.
If this was Military "coverup" or this UFO was a experimental object from the Military, I would assume that you could go over business plans, to figure out what businesses were in the area at that time.
Wonder if a business near by, were doing a so called "wireless" saucer experiments and showing off to the Military, until it went haywire.

Do you mean that Captain Cook wasn't the first explorer to land on Australian shores?
I thought it was pretty common knowledge that the Dutch were the first to get here. Although from memory there was some suggestion the Chinese may have gotten here 100+ years before any European.
Or is there some other conspiracy I am unaware of
