Not the first time that webber has been taken out while leading from his team mate.... Agreed, vettel is going to get his butt kicked by the red bull team managers and it is thouroughly deserved.

Great Race, even though Mark got taken out
But Hamilton showed what a true racer he is when he came straight back at Button Fantastic
The Press conference was interesting, with Mark Webber gritting his teeth in his answers
More races like that will mean a good F1 season.
Bring it on

Vettel certainly loves to get touchy-feely with Mark's car... I bet I woke up the neighbours with my very loud expletive at lap 41.
In the end though it's better for Mark as with Vettel down at 5 the team will get more behind Mark (hopefully).

They may be in the same team but it's still a race. The media loves this kind of BS and stirring the pot. Get over it guys. Not the first time and not the last. It would even make the news it the drivers were from different teams. Pushing the limits and others out of the way happens everyday in racing. You take no prisonners. It's a race.

unfortunately that won't happen as vettel is their wonder kid from the junior red bull program and they will do everything to keep him onside, at the expense of mark would be no issue for them.
Particularly Helmut Marko in red bull who digs into mark at every opportunity. I am already seeing things come out of red bull overnight that it was webbers fault, which is clearly utter nonsense.

Interesting to read the reactions from the team on the RBR website:
Car 6 Mark Webber, Finish Position: 3rd, Start Position: 1st
“Sebastian had a bit of a top speed advantage, he went down the inside and we were side by side. I was surprised when he came right suddenly, as I was holding my racing line. It happened very, very fast and it’s a shame for the team. Not an ideal day. The McLarens were solid and it was a good race between all four of us up at the front until then, neither of us wanted to make contact with each other. It’s obviously not ideal, but it happened. There was a long way to still go in the race, but that was an interesting few metres on the track between both of us. In the end it wasn’t the result that either of us wanted. We’ve got great character in our team and two fast drivers at the front – we’re not dicing for 15th and 16th – we’re going for victories so there’s clearly a lot at stake. I’ll have a chat with Sebastian about it, we might have a difference of opinion but we’ll be adults about it and press on.”
Car 5 Sebastian Vettel, Finish Position: DNF Start Position: 3rd
“If you watch it on the TV, you can see what happened. I’m not in the happiest of moods. I was on the inside going into the corner. I was there, I was ahead and focusing on the braking point and then we touched. Mark’s car hit my rear right wheel and I went off – there’s not much more to say. We were all on the same pace during the race, I think I was a bit quicker than Mark for two or three laps, I was catching him and thought I could get him on the back straight. I was very close and passed him on the left, that’s the story. This is something that happens, no one needs it, but there’s not much you can do now.”
Christian Horner, Team Principal: “It’s disappointing for the team to have got into that position today. The one thing I always ask the drivers is that, yes, they can race each other, but give each other room, and that’s exactly what didn’t happen. They were too far over on the left, Sebastian got a run on the inside of Mark, but then came across too early. They didn’t give each other room; it’s as simple as that. It was a massively close race between us and the McLarens up until that point. We managed to get ourselves ahead with a better pit-stop and a better strategy for Sebastian and were first and second. Sebastian was a bit happier on the prime tyre than Mark and was looking quicker at that point in the race. He got a run on Mark up the inside and we saw what happened. It’s massively disappointing and the situation shouldn’t have occurred. To give McLaren 28 points on a plate is very frustrating for everyone in the team – especially after so much hard work. We’ve lost a lot of points today with what’s happened. We need to learn from it, so we don’t find ourselves in this position again.”
In my opinion Mark did give Seb room - exactly 1 carwidths room which is all he had to give. Seb just came back across the track too fast - didn't leave time for Mark to react, and caused the collsiion.

Vettel the "team player" ............ not. Vettel is then shown in the Red Bull control box crawling and sucking up to management as the race continues with Webber attempting to salvage the situation. I admire Webber's fortitude and self control immediately after this event. Mark

Reb Bull Racing boss blames Mark Webber for the incident.
I think from this statement it is 100% clear to me that Mark is not in a 'team' environment ar RBR - Vettel is their golden child. Which is disappointing because almost all F1 pundits put the blame squarely at Vettels feet, and the kid acted like a spoilt brat afterwards with gestures and comments showing his immaturity. Mark on the other hand handled himself like a champion.

I hope Mark wins the title this year then moves on to a team that gives him the respect he deserves.

Totally spewing. THe little prat steered right into Webber's car in a freaking straightaway the size of an aircraft runway for gods sake, it's not like the usual touches you so often see in tight corners during overtaking manouvers.
The Red Bull boss can stick it.

Not quite. Webber left exactly one car width for Vettel on the left, no more and no less than he's supposed to give. However, after Vettel had gone ahead of him (to the point where Vettel couldn't see his car anymore) he was supposed to yield the race line to Vettel, which he didn't. Vettel had no reason to assume Webber wouldn't yield the race line after being passed.
RBR's assessment is correct, from what I've seen.
Cheers
Steffen.

what nonsense. Race drivers do not have to yield the line once the other car is past - in any case vettel was only about 1/ 2 car length (if that) in front. Webber was holding his line to try and outbrake vettel.
Any motorsport official or race driver would back webber on this.

Vettel has been feeling the pressure of Marks consecutive wins- he's not used to playing second fiddle at RBR. Even Hamilton and co blame Vettel

Well, they don't as you have noticed. Don't let your patriotism get the better of your judgement

red bull's bosses are not motorsport officials or race drivers. they have vested interest with vettel.
afaik from watching the race and the bbc after show ;
hamilton agrees
brundle agrees
anthony davidson agrees
alexander wurz agrees
do you know more than those race drivers? it's not about patriotism.
Every driver up the pitlane probably agrees.
if this happened between opposing teams and went to the stewards I would bet every bit of telescope gear on the earth that vettel would get reprimanded.

my cams licence is long ago expired but as a long time race car enthuasiast and driver, it was vetell's fault. you dont swerve into another car, even Hamilton agrees with webber, as did the comentry team at the time...Mr WEBBER was doing what any driver would do, hold his line.
I did a little reading and it would seem Mark was asked (or told)) to turn down HP to reduce fuel comsumption (this is the new "team rules" approach) Vetell did not have to, it would appear that the managment (Austrian) wants the German driver to win, fairly or otherwise, Mclaren seem to be up to the same claytons "team rules" (fuel/Hp reduction as they see fit) to enable a selected driver to do better, without having "team rules" now banned.

Little C Horner
sat in the corner
stroking Sebs golden hair.
Then along came Mark Webber
who drove even better
and threw all their plans in the air!

PS. F1 sux... I like to see things run fairly, cheats shouldnt prosper, best car/driver on the day should win and politics/nationality shouldnt come into it so I really shouldnt watch it cause thats the opposite of F1 ! If Mark wasnt a local boy I probably wouldnt have been watching (other Austrailian or Un zudder maybe).
