Had an unusual occurance two nights ago in that an object was noted at 1630 Hrs. RA while doing a drift scan at +40 Deg. Dec. to record Cyg-A at 19.58 Hrs (which I did), it was only on the one night of the 30-7-10 that it was noted, not on the 31st (next night) or the night before 29-7-10, the lobe spacing of the object would indicate that the object was at +60 Dec., (the hpbw of the antennas is only 3 Deg.) so its a mystery.
Equipment doing the scans is a Ph. Sw. Interferometer at approx 4 Ghz.
Any ideas out there.
Just ran those coords through Aladin...no objects were found.
However, here's some IRIS IR RGB images I made of the two areas. The one at +40 seems to have a open cluster in the area...at least that's what it looks like.
There is a radio-loud active galaxy, RXS J16290+4007, that would correspond with your approx co-ords. Don't know what sensitivity you're working at though.
Rob....I had a look at the coords in that paper. RXS isn't a recognised identifier but RX is and most of those coordinates aren't too accurate either. They're only approximate positions. However, I do have 3 Seyferts in the general area. However, at 1630+40(+60) there isn't any object. The radio noise was probably from one of the Seyferts in these pics (RGB's of Sloan Sky Survey data)
