Melb Eastern Suburbs Get Together
hi guys, as some would know l live in the Dandenong Ranges in Melbournes east, l have access to a couple of properties owned by friends that although are not snake valley dark would get us away from any major light pollution. l am looking for any interest from those in the area, although of course this is not to say that anyone could not join in, that may be in need of a darker site from which to view or image.
if interest is shown l will approach some people and see if we can arrange regular get togethers, the area l am talking about is about a 15 min drive from Ferntree Gully and the same from Lilydale.
please PM with any interest and maybe a ph no and l will keep in touch and let everyone know how it is progressing, thank you Mick.

I am interested as well.
Usually I go to Johns Hill (public lookout), it is adequate ...
However, if others are going some place else nearby, I would like to join, especially if power is available (and no cars with couples expecting to have some privacy, only to find me lurking in the dark by a huge white pipe... :-) )

Absolutely, says Eric who is not in charge!. I've been trying to get Alan out for yonks! Even without his scope, the man needs observing time!

Last time I spoke to him Eric, he was toying with the idea of building a 12" Bino.....
So I put him in contact with Phil Watson. I understand Phil has passed on all his info regarding the 10" Bino he built.
(the one we enjoyed at SV camp a few yrs back)
I received a quick msg from Allan on Facebook when I published the photos of the new 20", but haven't heard from him since then.....
Not too long ago he lost a close member of the family which knocked him & Tara quite badly. But I believe they've both moved on well.

Yes they have. I've seen them briefly since.
