Any ideas what this is?

The attached picture was taken by a friend on 11 May 2010 at about 12:50pm. Location - west of Murwillumbah near Uki in Tweed Valley of northern NSW.

Any ideas what the small circle near the Sun is? It seemed to move throughout the day and over the next day or so. Sometimes on one side of the Sun, sometimes on the other. Sometimes close, other times further away.

Michael

Lens artifact caused by internal reflections between lens elements.

Nah !!

Hi Michael,

Sorry to disagree with the experts who have commented, but you have undoubtedly captured an image of Nibiru (Planet X) here mate -- well done!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nibiru_collision

I've seen hundreds of images of it over the last few years and yours is undoubtedly the same "object". Though NASA and the governments of the world Nibiu are involved in a massive conspiracy to cover it up and hide the evidence, Nibiru will throw the inner solar-system into chaos in just over two years time as it sweeps toward the inner-planets and will cause the Earth to pole-flip and more than 75% of the population will perish in the disaster in December 2012. This was all supposed to happen in May 2003 but for some reason, the aliens put the whole shebang off until 2012.

Yeah, right.

It's a lens flare -- pure and simple. It is the same as 10s of 1000's of other purported photos of Nibiru near the Sun. They are, almost without exception, all lens-flares (an internal reflection within the lens system of your camera when pointed very close to straight-at a very bright object). There are a few others that (while not "Nibiru") are a photo of a Sun-dog or parhelia -- a natural phenomenon caused by Ice-crystals in the Earth's upper atmosphere. Nothing to get excited about or worry over in either case.

Best and welcome to IIS,

Les D

When the aliens attack, they usually do so from the direction of the Sun so you can't see them until the last second and it's too late. Common tactic.
