eta Car from the 'burbs

The sky was clear on the weekend, and I've been hanging out to try and drive my mount... unfortunately I wasn't able to get the guiding going. I di manage to capture eta Car unguided.

20 x 30 sec, unmodded Canon 400D, Vixen 4", NEQ6. Stacked in DSS, levels and curves (at first) PS CS2, some black magic by peter_4059 in PS CS3, colour balance PS CS2.

Probably a bit too purple, but I'm pretty happy with what is essentially my first deep sky image and processing, particularly with only 10 minutes imaging unguided and from Acacia Ridge (south IS my better direction though).

Comments appreciated.

Tony

Not to bad at all. Unguided makes imaging very dificult and for me, unthinkable.

Well done, good luck with your guiding.

Thanks Darren, Carl, Doug, Marc, and David. Just want to get a bit of practice in before the Astrofest so I can hit the ground running without too steep a learning curve.

Processing... Well thats another matter .

Cheers
Tony
