Another 5139 Sidonio

I have redone this image and spent quite a bit more time getting the alignment correct or at least a bit better.

Calibration and alignment carried out with CCDStack V2. I've never really spent much time with this application and decided this image would be the trial effort.
The final image has come up OK but next time I will image with longer subs than 120 seconds. The image has been cropped to center the core a bit better.

Hi Res Version: http://www.darkskyau.com/cm/displayi...254&fullsize=1

Thanks for looking.

Looks great. You should try a very light deconvolution on it - positive Constraint - 30 iterations. Bit soft on the focus originally and those stars will popout right out of the screen.

Thanks Marc. here is one with 20 iterations but to me it looks a bit sharp or course.

That's a very nice image Doug. You evolved it very well.

Thanks Troy I think my processing is improving. It's a big learning curve.

Thanks Greg, I think the only improvement I can make from here is to get a new data set to work on.

Yes Doug, that is a doozy. I agree the colours look spot on.

Lovely image Doug, I prefer the second one, but to each their own hey. You gotta be chuffed with that one.

Congrats, Doug. It's a very good effort. Image processing is a matter and evolution and a revolution every now and then ! I use CCDStack and I'm very happy with the package. Keep up the good work.

That is a great image as it is. Longer subs may start to burn out the core.

It all takes time but it's all good fun. Thanks

Thanks, longer subs still have more data to work with as long as its good data. The core is always workable.

Thanks Darren, the deconvolution washed the colour out a bit but has sharpened it all up and made the stars a lot tighter.
