Comet 81/P Wild2

Hi All,

I've been very frustrated with the Melbourne weather recently. I have wanted to get some pictures of this one before it gets too faint to image.

Finally last night (after coming home from the footy at 11pm) I managed to get some images of it.

Here's three images from the same set of LRGB data. All images were acquired binned 2x2, all are 2 minute subs, there are ten sets of LRGB subs in all, taken in LRGBLRGB... sequence with a minute between each sub exposure. I was trying out a new image capture technique for comets, but this one is moving so slowly that it didn't really work well. Anyway the three images are a straight combine, aligned on the comet, a comet aligned image with the stars removed (a VanDerhaven), and one of the stars and comet combined with no movement evident.

Usual telescopic and camera gear.

Cheers
Stuart
