A Puzzling Collapse of Earth's Upper Atmosphere

http://science.nasa.gov/science-news..._thermosphere/

Quote:
There's more to it than just solar EUV and terrestrial CO2. For instance, trends in global climate could alter the composition of the thermosphere, changing its thermal properties and the way it responds to external stimuli. The overall sensitivity of the thermosphere to solar radiation could actually be increasing

Exactly how the recovery proceeds could unravel the contributions of solar vs. terrestrial sources.
I wonder of the convenience of this data?

It's great that solar physicists are now speaking out about natural systems.

good science. well done.

The 60% could be plasma, or maybe the cosmic fridges are putting downward pressure on the upper atmosphere.
