Daniel I presume by options, are they many carrier around that do this sort of stuff, well yes there is but of coarse some are better than others.

I have used Toll, and Vic Fast, and have enjoyed their good service, never a problem, you can also use this company that comes to your door.

+1 for Transdirect or Toll. Both have delivered items to/from me ahead of schedule and nothing broken.

I've used E-go for refractors & camera equipment between Melb & Brisbane.

No problems.

An AT80 from Brisbane to Peter Read in Bunbartha (door to door) was $8.

I have just used online 'shopfront' smartsend.com.au to move a bass amp (22kg) from Adel to Melb. They use Allied Express as the courier service.
Cost $33, picked up 3.30pm on Monday, buyer emailed me at 11.00am Tuesday to say it had been delivered!!!!
