Canon DPP and non-Canon lenses, how?

Hi folks,
Does anybody know how to fool DPP into thinking the image was taken with "compatible" lens and camera combination?
Apart from their marketing policies (focus confirmation is another example of this), there are no technical reasons why distortion correction should not work...

Hi,
Sorry --- I tried loading some photos taken with my old Lumix digi P&S into DPP and failed.
The DPP manual for my new 550D is very specific about the lens.
Good luck.
