10" Bintel (GSO) Mount

Hello,

I've just purchased a 10" dob from Bintel, and I'm very excited.

The only issue that I'm having is the mount - it seems to have quite a wobble about it, and I'm almost certain it's due to how I've put the washers.

It comes with one small washer, one large washer, and one with little balls on it. I currently have the big one in between the metal plates and the bottom of the dob box (i.e. not the one that touches the ground), the one with the balls in it between the bottom of the metal plates and the ground bit and the small normal one at the top of the dob box, where the bolt thing is.

I apologise - I've done a search and can't seem to find anything, and the instructions only say to put the washers on either side.

Thanks alot (I hope it made some sense!).

Mark

On the 8" GSO (the mount of which most likely is assembled the same way) it goes like this, bottom to top:

Nut/bottom board - bearing sheets - top board - large washer - ball bearing washer - small washer - knob.

There should be nothing between the boards other than the bearing sheets.

Cheers
Steffen.

the GSo skyview mount is probably overloaded with a 10" optical tube, though i realise it is still sold with one. even for the 8" OTA it is probably too much weight

Thank you so much - no wobbles now!

Hmm... As long is it lasts for a bit, I'm happy!
